Add or remove a Yale door lock using the Xfinity app

Use the Xfinity app to add, pair, and remove your Yale door lock. Follow the steps to connect your lock and help keep your home secure.

Before you start

  1. Download the Xfinity app.
  2. Make sure your Yale door lock works with the Xfinity app and supports Zigbee.
  3. Install the lock by following the manufacturer steps.
  4. If you have more than one lock, pair each lock separately.

Requirements

Add and pair your door lock

  1. Sign in to the Xfinity app.
  2. Select Home.
  3. Select Add smart devices.
  4. Choose your Yale lock model.

  5. Tap Get Started.

  6. Complete the checklist. Then, select each box when you're ready.

  7. Tap Continue to begin pairing.

  8. Wake up the keypad by placing your palm on it until the keypad lights up.

  9. Make sure the door is locked. Enter your master code. Then, press the Gear button. Tap Continue in the Xfinity app.

  10. Open Wireless Settings by pressing 7. Then, the Gear button on the keypad.

  11. Press 1. Then, press the Gear button to connect the lock to your gateway. The lock will say ”Completed” when pairing is finished.
    • Keep the Xfinity app open during this step. If you leave the app, you may need to start over.

  12. When pairing is complete, you’ll see a confirmation message.

  13. Enter a name for your lock and tap Name Your Device.
    • Choose a name that matches the lock's location, like Front Door or Back Door.
    • You can skip this step and rename the lock later.

  14. Test your lock using the slider to lock or unlock it. Then, tap Continue.

  15. Pairing is complete.
    • Tap Set Notifications to receive lock alerts.
    • Tap the X to return to the Home tab.

  16. The Home tab will show your lock status and other connected smart devices.

Remove your door lock

  1. Sign in to the Xfinity app.
  2. Go to Home.
  3. Select the settings icon in the upper-right corner on the lock you want to remove.
  4. Scroll down. Then, tap Delete Lock.
    Lock settings are shown, with an option to Delete Lock located at the bottom.
