Great news! Your device is ready to connect. Just follow the on‑screen instructions to complete the setup.
Xfinity Mobile determines your billing start date based on when you receive your device.
- Bring your own device (BYOD) eSIM devices or in stock purchases: Billing begins as soon as the order is completed.
- Shipped devices and physical SIM (pSIM) cards: Billing begins on the day the device is delivered.
Activation fee: A one-time $25 line activation fee applies to every new phone or tablet line added and activated.
Exception: For smartwatches, billing starts at set up, or seven days after purchase, whichever occurs first.
Activation types
New line with new Xfinity phone or tablet
Connect a new line with a new Xfinity purchased phone or tablet:
- Update and back up your current phone.
- Unbox and power on the device.
- Follow the on-screen steps to connect to WiFi and install your eSIM.
- Your phone will connect to Xfinity Mobile.
- Transferring your number in the Xfinity app using information from a previous carrier.
- Notes:
- Apple: Device may go to SOS mode when transfer completes. Restart the device to sync up the SIM.
- Android: Device may go to no service mode when transfer completes. Restart the device to sync up the SIM.

New line with BYOD phone and tablet
Connect a new line with a BYOD phone and tablet (eSIM or pSIM):
Apple:
- Install your eSIM by tapping the Settings notification or open Settings > Set Up Cellular.
- For pSIM: Insert the physical card. Then, power on your device.
- Set Xfinity as your default line for calls, texts, and cellular data (enable for iMessage too).
- Your phone will connect to Xfinity Mobile.
- Transferring your number in the Xfinity app using info from a previous carrier.
- Note: Device may go to SOS mode when transfer completes. Restart the device to sync up the SIM.
Android:
- For pSIM, insert the card.
- Power on the device.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Samsung:
- Tap Add eSIM on the notification: eSIM ready to add.
- If you missed the notification: Settings > Connections > SIM Manager > Add eSIM > Search for eSIMs.
- Tap Add to activate your Xfinity Mobile eSIM. The installation will take a few minutes.
- Once complete, your phone is connected to Xfinity Mobile.
Samsung (Dual SIM):
- Tap Add eSIM on the notification: eSIM ready to add.
- If you missed the notification: Settings > Connections > SIM Manager > Add eSIM > Search for eSIMs.
- Tap Add to activate your Xfinity Mobile eSIM.
- The install may take a few minutes.
- Once complete, you will land on SIM manager.
- Notes:
- After SIM install is complete, eSIM will stay on by default.
- Edit SIM name screen will appear.
- Notes:
- On the SIM manager screen with Xfinity eSIM off, you'll get a pop-up: Xfinity Mobile eSIM ready.
- There are two SIM label boxes: One is your previous carrier, another is Xfinity Mobile.
- Select the box labeled Xfinity Mobile.
- Create a label like “Xfinity” or “Xfinity Mobile” to make it easy to recognize for the next few choices.
- Preferred SIM screens will then appear.
- Messages screen: Tap the line you just labeled (Xfinity) to enable it as your default line.
- Calls screen: Tap the line you just labeled (Xfinity) to enable it as your default line.
- Data screen: Tap the line you just labeled (Xfinity) to enable it as your default line. Turn on Data switching.
- Your phone is now connected to Xfinity Mobile.
Motorola:
- Tap the SIM Manager notification: Set up your Xfinity Mobile eSIM.
- Or open Network & Internet > SIMs > Add SIM > Set up an eSIM.
- Tap Set up to activate your Xfinity Mobile eSIM. The install make take a few minutes.
- Once complete, your phone is connected to Xfinity Mobile.
Motorola (Dual SIM):
- Tap the SIM Manager notification: Set up your Xfinity Mobile eSIM.
- Or open Network & Internet > SIMs > Add SIM > Set up an eSIM.
- Tap Set up to activate your Xfinity Mobile eSIM.

- Once complete, you will land on the Activate your eSIM screen.
- Tap Settings.
- On the SIMs and mobile network screen, Downloaded SIMs screen:
- Switch on Xfinity Mobile.
- On the confirmation message, tap Turn on.
- Your device will connect.
- On the SIMs and mobile network screen:
- Calling and Preferred SIMs for calls sections:
- Tap the Xfinity Mobile box to set as preferred.
- You’ll get a pop-up: Turn off Smart SIM.
- Tap Turn it off.
- Preferred SIMs section — SIM for messages section:
- Tap the Xfinity Mobile box to set as preferred.
- Preferred SIMs section — SIM for mobile data section:
- Tap SIM for mobile data (customer will land on the mobile data page).
- Tap the Xfinity Mobile box to set it as preferred.
- You’ll get a pop-up: Change data SIM.
- Tap OK.
- Turn on Switch SIM automatically.
- Tap SIM for mobile data (customer will land on the mobile data page).
- Calling and Preferred SIMs for calls sections:
- Your phone is now connected to Xfinity Mobile.
Pixel:
- Tap the SIM Manager notification: Set up your Xfinity Mobile eSIM.
- Or open Network & Internet > SIMs > Add SIM > Set up an eSIM.
- Tap Set up to activate your Xfinity Mobile eSIM. The install make take a few minutes.
- Once complete, your phone is connected to Xfinity Mobile.
Pixel (Dual SIM):
- Tap the SIM Manager notification: Set up your Xfinity Mobile eSIM.
- Or open Network & Internet > SIMs > Add SIM > Set up an eSIM.
- Tap Set up to activate your Xfinity Mobile eSIM. The install make take a few minutes.
- Once complete, you will land on the Activate your eSIM screen.
- Tap Settings.
- On the SIMs screen, switch on the Xfinity Mobile SIM.
- You'll get a confirmation pop-up: Set your SIM Preferences.
- Tap Get Started.
- From the Label your SIMs screen, take note of the labels.
- One is your previous carrier's name, the other is Xfinity.
- Tap Next.
- Tap on all three options to set your primary Xfinity Mobile SIMs: Calls, texts, and data.
- Turn on Automatic data switching.
- Your phone is now connected to Xfinity Mobile.
New device on existing line (Xfinity purchased and BYOD)
Connect a new device on an existing line (Xfinity purchased and BYOD):
Apple:
- Use the Xfinity app or the website to make sure number lock is turned off.
- Make sure your current device is updated to the latest operating system.
- Turn on your new iPhone.
- Keep both phones side by side with WiFi and Bluetooth on.
- Follow on-screen steps to transfer data and eSIM.
- Your number and service move to the new phone.
- Manage your line in the Xfinity app.
Android:
- Use the Xfinity app or the website to make sure number lock is turned off.
- Make sure your current device is updated to the latest operating system.
- Turn on your new phone (Google Pixel, Moto, Samsung Galaxy).
- Follow on-screen steps to transfer data and install eSIM.
- Restart your device if prompted.
- Your number and service move to the new phone.
- Manage your line in the Xfinity app.
