We know you use Xfinity products in diverse ways, so we support many third-party assistive technologies to help you get the most out of your experience.
About third-party assistive technology
The Comcast Accessibility Support Center for Customers with Disabilities supports many third-party devices and software tools to help you access Comcasts products and services. We also work to improve this support by listening to your feedback.
If you need help using an assistive device, contact the Comcast Accessibility Support Center for Customers with Disabilities. Our agents will work with you to find a solution and will use your feedback to help us improve support for third-party technologies. They may ask for your device’s make, model or version, so please have this information ready.
Hardware
The large-button remote is the only third-party assistive device that Comcast provides for customers. However, our support team will try to help with other third-party devices such as:
- TTY (Text Telephone)/TDD (Telecommunication Device for the Deaf)
- Caption telephones
- Screen readers
- Sip and puff controllers
- Foot pedals
- Motion controllers, such as the LEAP Motion Controller
- Eye tracking hardware and software
- Xbox Kinect
- Voice recognition and dictation
- Tablet and touchpad interfaces
Customer service agents will help you troubleshoot general issues. If you need more help, they may refer you to the device manufacturer’s support team.
Software
Comcast does not provide assistive software packages. However, our customer service agents can help you with basic troubleshooting for third party software. If you need more support, they may refer you to the software manufacturer’s support team.
Comcast tests its products with the latest versions of JAWS and NVDA on Windows and with VoiceOver on Mac OS X. For mobile apps, we suggest using the latest versions of VoiceOver on iOS devices and TalkBack on Android devices. For the best results with all our products, make sure your preferred screen reader is always up to date.
